METU Department of Economics will celebrate the 50th year of establishment of the Department throughout 2009. For this purpose, many activities including a conference on "Crisis, Restructring and Turkey", a workshop on "Economics Education", a series of seminars and conferences, special activities on Graduate day will be organized by the Department. 

Organization committee aims to enroll the students, graduates and faculty as well as people who see themselves as "friends of department" in the activities. Further, we seek to increase the communication and create an integration between these groups of people. For that purpose, we setup a website (http://alumni.econ.metu.edu.tr) as interactive as possible. This site, along with being a tool for announcements about the activities will also help us to facilitate the communication between our students, graduates, faculty and friends. 

To benefit from the all aspect of the website, you need to register yourself. Registration is completely free and the information that you will supply during the registration will in no case be shared with any 3rd party agents. You will need to validate your e-mail address during the registration. This is required to differentiate human users from the spambots and to protect our users from spam messages.

Once registered, by logging in the system you can participate in the discussion going on our forums (by using the forums link), or you can chat with your friends who are also logged in.

We will try to keep the website up to date and enhance its interactive content. However, as you may already know, keeping an interactive website "alive" and up to date is a hard task. We need moderators and site admins who will take the responsibility of some part of the site and keep that part as "alive" as possible.
